A panoramic view of Banbury Road Stone Terminal, Water Eaton, just to the north of Oxford on 14 January 2014. 165006 passes by with the 2T11 11:30 Bicester Town to Oxford Chiltern Railways service, whilst in the foreground is the 7C54 13:06 Oxford Banbury Road to Westbury Mendip Rail stone train, which had just finished being unloaded. In a month's time this line is going to be closed for a couple of months for major engineering work in connection with Chiltern's plan to introduce through trains to London over the route. There will be a replacement bus service, but the ones that serve Islip will take nearly twice as long as the train, even without allowing for rush hour traffic! |
