Freezing conditions at Islip on 13 December 2012 as 165024 arrives with the 2T10 11:00 Oxford to Bicester Town Chiltern Railways service. Unfortunately for the operator, despite there being two of us on the platform, no one left and no one came, to quote Edward Thomas (the famous 1917 poem 'Adlestrop'). This view from the end of Islip's platform gives a good view of the two bridges and the reverse curve that takes the Oxford to Bicester line through the village. This short section of the route is completely different to the flat landscape all around. |
