Chiltern Railways DMUs pass this spot every day, on both lines, but very rarely use the crossover between the two, as shown here. 165039 passes Gavray Junction on 8 August 2020 with the 5Z23 12:02 Bicester Village to Bicester Village ECS. After arriving at Bicester with the 1Y23 11:42 train from Oxford, it needed to access the other platform, in order to head back to Oxford with the 1T27 12:15 departure. This was due to the closure of the line to London for engineering works. Therefore this ECS move took it around the corner to Bicester South Junction, where the driver changed ends, and then heading back, using this little used crossover. The far left track visible in the background is the disused line to Bletchley. |
