With a wave from the driver, and an unexpected and slightly distorted reflection of myself in the windscreen, 165101 leads 165103 round 'Cemetery Curve' on the approach to Oxford station with the 2C40 13:30 Reading to Oxford Network SouthEast service on 27 December 1993. The NSE livery certainly looked impressive on these units, especially in nice low winter lighting such as this. Note the dark clouds in the background, proving that this good lighting wasn't going to last. The buildings in the background occupy the site of Oxford's former railway goods depot. |
