The class had been introduced into passenger service just over a month earlier, initially with drafted in Class 165/0s, which would later be used on the Chiltern route out of Marylebone. Note how rural this location looks in this view, a far cry from the situation today. An industrial estate now occupies the field on the right, and a housing estate has obliterated the field in the background.
