165105 has just passed under the A423 Oxford ring road (surprisingly free of traffic considering it is the rush hour) and is approaching Hinksey Yard on 2 May 2007 with the 16:00 Paddington to Banbury First Great Western service. Presumably this unit was temporarily withdrawn for repainting shortly after this picture was taken, because the next time I saw it, a few months later it was in First Great Western livery. The white notice by the bridge contains the wording 'Closure Mark', which is presumably the level the stream has to rise to for the line to be closed. Flooding is nothing new in this area, having been a problem ever since the line was built. |
