The unit had arrived a little earlier as one half of the 1W16 07:50 Paddington to Great Malvern. The front unit then detached, and carried on to Great Malvern. This explains why the train is leaving from the 'wrong' platform. This telephoto view clearly shows the newly installed semaphore signal that allows this move. The crossover just in front of the unit will allow the train to gain the correct line.
