Fresh out of the box! On its first day in revenue earning service, 165105 passes South Moreton on 18 May 1992 with the 1F62 17:20 Paddington to Banbury Network SouthEast service. You can certainly tell that this is the unit's first day out, as there is hardly a spot on the largely white NSE paintwork. Even the exhaust silencer is still highly polished and gleaming. This is one of the very first outings for a Class 165/1 unit, as previously Class 165/0s had been transferred in from the Chiltern Line due to the late delivery of the Thames Valley's own units.
