165110 passes the newly installed crossover at South Marston on 5 May 2000 with the 17:58 Oxford to Bristol Temple Meads First Great Western service. The crossover is for access to the new railfreight terminal, but at this time the trackwork within the depot was still incomplete. A two car Class 165 was the standard rostered stock for these unsuccessful Oxford to Bristol trains, but things are not quite all they seem here. 165110 is in fact one of the three car batch of 165/1 units (165101 - 165117), and is therefore running here without its centre coach. |
