A short section of the Didcot to Oxford line in the Appleford area had electrification masts installed at the same time as the Great Western Mainline was wired, but nothing further happened, and the project was put on hold. 165122 passes the abandoned structures at Appleford on 25 March 2022 with the 2L25 09:36 Oxford to Didcot Parkway GWR service. The level crossing in the foreground is now only opened by request.
