The pre-assembled point that will mark the end of the Ascott-under-Wychwood to Charlbury redoubling of the Cotswold Line was delivered to site over the 2011 Spring Bank Holiday weekend. It is seen here just to the south of Charlbury station waiting to be installed during the line's total shutdown from 28 May. 165124 passes by and prepares to stop at Charlbury station with the only down 'all stations' train on the route - the 2E95 17:31 Oxford to Worcester Foregate Street First Great Western service. This is usually the only train that relies on a two car Class 165, rather than a three car Turbo or HST. This is one of the few occasions that I have had to resort to adding a x1.4 converter to my Canon 200mm f2.8L lens. It's lucky that the heat haze of the previous week has given way to some much clearer air! |
