"What do you mean we shouldn't have turned right at Didcot?" During the brief period when First Great Western used Class 165 Turbo units to operate an Oxford to Bristol Temple Meads service, 165126 encounters problems at Compton Beauchamp whilst working the 17:58 train from Oxford on 29 May 2002. The fault was not with the unit, but some unexplained (presumably signaling) fault further towards Swindon that was causing all westbound services to be held at this signal and then allowed to proceed at reduced speed. |
