New Year's Day 1 January 2013 saw a modified service in operation in the Thames Valley. 165126 passes Hinksey Yard with the 2Z20 12:06 Oxford to Didcot Parkway First Great Western service, which is replacing the normal 2P50 12:07 Oxford to Paddington. These hourly Z headcode shuttle services operated throughout the day, resulting in the much more frequent appearance of lone two car Class 165/1s on the line than would normally be the case.
