The 1F72 18:08 Paddington to Oxford Network SouthEast service arrives at Pangbourne station on 28 April 1993. Although it may appear to be just another Turbo operated local service, this is in fact slightly more noteworthy, as it is formed from a 165127 (a Thames Lines two car Class 165/1) and 165038 (a Chiltern Lines three car Class 165/0). During 1992 and 1993 the Chiltern sets were helping out on Paddington services, pending the completion of the 165/1 fleet deliveries. There has probably never been an instance since around this time when Class 165/0s & 165/1s have been called upon to work in multiple. |
