Locations between Banbury and Oxford that are free of shadows for an early morning southbound picture are at a premium. On 22 September 2012, I investigated a spot between Sandy Lane and Yarnton Lane Crossings at Kidlington. Amazingly I had never visited this location before, and although nothing spectacular, it does offer an unobstructed view. 165127 passes by with the 2L39 09:02 Banbury to Oxford First Great Western service. Sandy Lane Crossing can just be seen in the background.
