Class 165s are common on the Cotswold Line, but this one is a little different, as instead of the usual Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh, Great Malvern or Worcester services, this is something altogether different. 165128 passes Shorthampton in the rain on 9 April 2018 with the 5Q94 12:49 Wolverton Centre Sidings to Long Marston ECS. This Rail Operations Group working had presumably travelled via London due to gauging issues, as the loco hauled EMU stock moves from either Wolverton or Bedford travel via Birmingham. The sound of chainsaws could be heard in the distance here, as track workers (some of whom can just be seen underneath the bridge in the background) were carrying out some long overdue vegetation clearance. |
