165133 passes Souldern with the 09:38 Banbury to Oxford First Great Western service on 15 August 2008. To get to this remote location requires a walk of nearly a mile along the towpath of the Oxford Canal, and then involves crossing one of the distinctive lifting bridges. Ironically I arrived at this bridge just as a narrowboat with just one person on board was negotiating the bridge, which naturally took some time. I only saw one other boat on the move on this quiet section of canal during my walk both there and back! |
