The morning of 7 August 2023 was forecast to be sunny, and as 166202 was booked on the 2T08 06:52 Worcester Foregate Street to Bristol Temple Meads GWR service, I went to Pirton specifically to photograph it, as it is one of the now fast diminishing First Great Western blue liveried units. Although not a very inspiring location, it was chosen as it is one of the few possible spots where the sun would be on the front (just!) and would be free of shadows at 07:14.
