166212 approaches Wolvercote Junction on 8 August 1994 with the 1F68 17:50 Paddington to Banbury Network SouthEast service. Before it became totally overgrown, this used to be one of my favourite Oxford area photographic spots, and although it is taken from the extremely busy A40 road bridge, a wide pavement (and now barriers) keep you away from the traffic. The bridge in the background is entirely different, and is a very precarious place to stand for any length of time. However, just a couple of weeks earlier, I did photograph this same unit from that bridge, travelling in the opposite direction with an early morning train. |
