Brand new, fresh out of the box! Just a couple of weeks old, and still looking immaculate, 168004 passes Whitnash on 8 August 1998 with the 14:30 Birmingham Snow Hill to Marylebone Chiltern Railways service. The five Class 168/0s were delivered between May and July 1998, but the slightly different Class 168/1s did not start arriving for another two years.
