168329 passes through Kingham station at high speed on 24 June 2022 with the 5Q68 12:30 Long Marston to Aylesbury DMU Depot ECS. As far as I know, this is only the second time that a Chiltern Railways Class 168 has traversed the Cotswold Line, the first being when this unit travelled in the opposite direction four days earlier! The battery/diesel hybrid unit was one of the exhibits at the Long Marston Rail Live event, and on the day when the RMT were not on strike, was used as a Honeybourne to Long Marston shuttle, to connect with mainline trains. As a record of this very unusual working, I wanted somewhere identifiable, and the GWR style running in board on the left certainly provides positive identification! |
