170521 & 170113 run cautiously over newly laid track at Grange Court on 20 August 2012, as they work the 1M94 10:45 Cardiff Central to Nottingham CrossCountry service. After many years of disuse, the former loop line has finally been disconnected. Whether that means the track will be recovered, or just get even more overgrown only time will tell. This view clearly shows the course of the old Great Western line to Ross-on-Wye, still visible as a gap in the bushes nearly half a century after closure. Grange Court Junction station closed at the same time as the Ross line, as being situated in a very rural area, it only had minimal local traffic.
