170621 passes the site of Portskewett station (closed in 1964) on 17 June 2022 with the 1M01 08:45 Cardiff Central to Nottingham CrossCountry service. This was formerly the junction for the short line to the Severn Estuary at Black Rock. From there the New Passage Ferry operated until the opening of the Severn Tunnel in 1886.
