20129 passes Beeston on 11 September 1990 with an eastbound breakdown train. Note the Blue Circle cement depot in the background, which at this time was still in use, although not for much longer! 20129 had an even shorter time left, being withdrawn a month after this picture was taken. After a brief period of storage next to the main line at Stanton Gate, it was towed to Carlisle, and then Mossend in August 1991, and was then cut up at M.C. Metals, Springburn, the following month. |
