20140 & 20154 pass Church Leigh on 12 August 1989 with the 2P86 12:49 Crewe to Derby service. The shortage of Class 150 DMUs led to the unexpected, but very welcome, substitution of these pairs of Class 20s. 20140 has not received the orange stripe that was being applied to most locos around this time, as a warning about the possible presence of overhead live wires.
