20143 & 20214 pass Mostyn on 11 August 1991 with a Point of Ayr Colliery to Fiddlers Ferry Power Station MGR. Although 20214 survives in preservation, all the rest is now history. 20143 was cut up in 1993, apparently by mistake, as it too had been acquired for preservation. By 1991 the days of Class 20s on coal traffic were numbered, and in fact Point of Ayr Colliery only survived for a few more years, bringing an end to coal production on North Wales. |
