With an unofficial headboard provided by the Class 20 Locomotive Society, 20144 & 20128 pass Great Hale on 11 August 1984 with the 1E86 08:16 Leicester to Skegness. In the 1980s the Skegness line was a Mecca for rail enthusiasts on a summer Saturday, with various loco hauled trains converging on the east coast resort. Heckington church can be seen on the right, and the station, complete with disused goods shed can just be seen on the left. |
