Sunday engineering work in the 1980s could often produce a wide variety of traction, and on 28 September 1986 this contrasting choice of motive power was in use at Whitacre Junction. 20169 & 20135 stand in the loop with a spoil and ballast empties train, while 58019 is parked right behind it with a short rake of Seacow ballast hoppers. Although all three locos have their engines running, it would be another two hours before either of them moved!
