20189 & 20142 Sir John Betjeman cross the M42 motorway at Widney Manor on 14 August 2022 with the Vintage Trains 1T50 10:00 Birmingham Snow Hill to Stratford-upon-Avon 'Shakespeare Express' railtour. I had guessed that there would be just enough room between the A34 Shirley exit sign on the left, and the bushes on the right for a pair of Class 20s, but as they were travelling reasonably fast, and with no audible warning above the traffic, it was a risky proposition! As this is a Sunday, the traffic is quite light (at least northbound). The Solihull Half Marathon was taking place on the road from which this picture was taken, and so I had to park half a mile away as the road was closed!
