20227 passes Golden Valley on 17 October 1992 with the 11:18 Riddings to Hammersmith service, during the Midland Railway Centre's Diesel Gala. The loco was withdrawn from BR service in October 1990, and sold to the Class 20 Locomotive Society. It arrived at Butterley in September 1991.
