221103 Christopher Columbus & 221131 Edgar Evans climb the Lickey Incline on 26 July 2003 with the 1V39 07:11 Bristol Temple Meads to Glasgow Central Virgin Trains service. At the time the only reason for taking this picture was the superb early morning light. However, a pair of immaculate named Class 221s in their original livery, ascending the gradient without any overhead wires in the way, now makes the scene definitely worth recording.
