Virgin Train's 221106 William Barents & 221112 Ferdinand Magellan were hired to Arriva CrossCountry over the 2017 August Bank Holiday, to strengthen services to compensate for the closure of Euston station for engineering works. Bringing a touch of recent livery nostalgia to the Banbury area, the duo are pictured passing Kings Sutton on 27 August 2017 with the 1M58 14:40 Bournemouth to Manchester Piccadilly service.
