Dublin, like most large cities, had an extensive tram system by the end of the nineteenth century. Again like most cities, the network closed after World War Two. The last tram ran on 10 July 1949. However, in 2004 a new system opened. Branded Luas (Irish for 'Speed'), there are two new lines, serving the centre of the city. Luas tram 3001 waits at Dublin Connolly station on 23 May 2018, prior to working a service to Saggart. |
