304037 approaches Holmes Chapel on 17 September 1994 with the 09:37 Crewe to Deansgate Regional Railways service. A few Class 304s survived in traffic long enough to wear this smart Regional Railways livery, but the writing was definitely on the wall for the class when this picture was taken. 304037 was withdrawn the following June, and the whole class was extinct by March 1996. 304037 had been delivered in 1961 as a four car unit, but it was reduced to three cars in 1985.
