On the extreme right of the picture is Class 207 DEMU 1305 Brighton Royal Pavilion, which is undergoing extensive restoration. Note the work going on to restore the coping stones on platform 1. Hosted Keynes was formerly the junction for the line to Haywards Heath via Ardingly. The course of this line (which was electrified by the Southern Railway in 1935) is through the trees behind the signal box in the background.
