33004 climbs out of the Severn Tunnel and approaches Pilning on 11 October 1986 with the 1O43 14:05 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour service. Sudbrook Pumping Station can just be seen in the distance (on the other side of the River Severn, directly above the tunnel entrance). This was later largely obscured with the construction of the new Severn Bridge approach road.
