33029 makes use of the Chiltern Line's bi-directional capabilities, as it passes Fritwell running 'wrong line' on 7 March 2020 with the Branch Line Society 1Z36 07:10 Lancaster to Paddington 'Fenny Crompton' railtour. A little earlier the tour had done a similar move, traversing Fenny Compton Down Goods Loop in the 'wrong' direction. This train had actually left Lancaster nearly an hour late at 08:03, but the easy schedule had allowed it to be back on time by Birmingham, and 14 minutes early into Banbury. It was on time here, but unfortunately the earlier occasional bright spells had been replaced by very dark conditions, which is not good for photographing West Coast Railway's 'sludge brown' liveried locos. 47746 is bringing up the rear. |
