33201 & 33008 Eastleigh pass Cattybrook on 12 July 1987 with the 1O42 13:10 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour service. I remember being disappointed that the heritage repainted green 33008 wasn't on the front, but a double headed working with a slimline 33/2 was certainly not an everyday occurrence. Note the stacks of bricks on the right. The brickworks has been operating continuously since 1864, when it was set up specifically to supply some of the enormous quantity of bricks needed for the nearby Severn Tunnel. |
