37054 passes Ashchurch on 17 April 1991 with the 8M01 07:22 Radyr to Bescot departmental working. The inclusion of the LPG tank at the rear is unusual enough, but what makes this picture noteworthy is the Charterail road rail vehicle in the middle of the train. Charterail was set up the previous year to offer customers a swap body service after the demise of Speedlink. Unfortunately the idea didn't work, and the company went into liquidation in 1992. |
