A wave from the driver of 37116 Comet, as it approaches Wolvercote Junction on 11 June 1992 with the 4M99 17:14 Southampton to Trafford Park freightliner, ably assisted by 37214. This was running a few minutes late, which was a bit of a worry, as the late evening shadows were rapidly advancing across the track. It was therefore a relief when the distinctive English Electric racket could be heard long before the train came into view beneath the Oxford bypass.
