In the gathering gloom on the evening of 25 September 1998, 37215 passes Hailes on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway with its first passenger run in preservation - the 'Gotherington Growler'. Unfortunately the train was running twenty minutes late due to the late arrival at Toddington of the loco's driver, which meant that it was getting dark by the train left. Some indication of how dark it is can be seen by the brightness of the headcode. In fact this was just about on the limit of the combination of a Pentax 6x7 with Fujichrome Provia 400F film! |
