Pure nostalgia! A scruffy and dented 37217 is obviously making a terrific racket as heads east past Marshfield on 28 April 1984 with a lengthy loaded coal train. Close inspection of the original Kodachrome 64 slide reveals 40 well loaded vacuum braked wagons. No idea where this originated, as in 1984 there was a good selection of collieries still hard at work in South Wales. However, its destination was presumably Newport, as the loco returned light engine just 40 minutes later. |
