The Colas operated 3S33 06:18 Swindon to Kings Norton Rail Head Treatment Train virtually always runs early, often by at least an hour, and sometimes by more than two hours! This makes it very difficult to photograph, as it has often reached its destination before sunrise. However, on 28 October 2014, I noticed that the train's previous working (3S32 03:53 Worcester Shrub Hill to Swindon) was actually running 14 minutes late approaching Swindon at 06:00. As it was a sunny morning, this was too good an opportunity to miss. One of the few locations that would (just!) be fully lit, and where the sun would be on the front, was Badgeworth. So here is 37219 passing Badgeworth with 3S33 in stunning light, with 37175 bringing up the rear. They could be heard pulling away from Gloucester Yard, three miles away! |
