37239 passes Ryecroft Junction on 15 August 1988 with the 6J43 08:25 Washwood Heath to Gobowen Speedlink Coal. With just five loaded wagons, it is easy to see why this domestic coal traffic was unprofitable. The Speedlink Coal network had been created a couple of years earlier. The gradually diminishing network was renamed Network Coal in 1991, and struggled on until 1993.
