I often find it amusing that so many photographers get so excited about the Class 60s that work the 6B33 Theale to Robeston oil tanks in 2012. Of course, I also photograph these trains as Class 60s are obviously infinitely preferable to 66s, but I wonder what some of today's younger photographers would make of this! Two decades earlier, pairs of 37s were the standard motive power for the train, which ran in the same path, and with the same headcode. On 21 December 1992, 37280 & 37668 pass Circourt Bridge, Denchworth with the 6B33 12:35 Theale to Robeston Murco oil empties, past a line of sleepers that will soon become the down relief line. |
