During 1992, the 4M99 17:14 Southampton to Trafford Park freightliner was booked for a pair of Class 37s, and naturally with a whole host of suitable photographic locations in the Didcot and Oxford area, I made use of every available sunny evening. Running exactly to time, 37298 & 37278 are seen here passing South Moreton on 22 May 1992. 4M99 seems to have been a virtual permanent fixture in the working timetable, but subsequent years saw much more mundane traction on this service!
