At least it wasn't raining on 11 June 2005 when 37401 The Royal Scotsman worked the 1Z18 05:32 SRPS Kilmarnock to Mallaig 'West Highlander' railtour. However, the intermittent sunshine that greeted me when I arrived at the western end of Loch Eilt on the Fort William to Mallaig line had given way to generally dull conditions by the time the train arrived. Nevertheless, 37401 makes a fine sight as it emerges from the woods with its matching rake of maroon stock.
