I didn't think that this would be travelling very fast, as it was a few minutes early, and was following right behind the 1C86 14:37  Paddington to Penzance GWR service, which was running a staggering 53 minutes late. However, that must have got a move on, as this was certainly shifting, and with 15 MLA wagons loaded with well over 1,000 tonnes of ballast, was making a good racket, and could be heard for several minutes as it approached from the Kintbury direction.
