37402 Bont Y Bermo brings up the rear of the Monmouthshire Railway Society 'Gwaun-cae-Gurwen Growler II' railtour as it passes through Lydney Lakeside station (later renamed St Mary's halt) on 23 April 1994. The lead locomotive is 37258. The train had just travelled up the Dean Forest Railway, as far as Norchard. The Lydney bypass now crosses the line approximately at the mid point of this train. The preliminary works for the new road can just be glimpsed through the trees on the left. |
