37408 Loch Rannoch passes Egton on the meandering Esk Valley line with the 1Z09 16:38 Grosmont to Birmingham New Street NYMR/Rail Magazine railtour returning from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on 8 May 1993. The tour was organised to celebrate the 200th issue of Rail magazine and appropriately utilised preserved Class 40 D200 on the NYMR. Despite appearances I had not resorted to bush clearance on the embankment in order to open up the view!
